Whether you’re thinking of trying supper clubs, singles nights, introductions agencies, social groups or online dating Carlisle has something to offer and there are a great selection of like-minded people also out there looking for love!
So, take the plunge and make the first step. You could load your profile onto an online dating site, join a new club, or start attending a new evening class or sports group. Meeting new people through a shared interest is good as it takes the pressure off and allows you to get to know a person in a relaxed way.
When you have met someone you’d like to take on a date, you’re in luck because Carlisle dating is made so much easier thanks to the large range of attractions on offer! The trick to picking a memorable date is to go for something that suits your interests and provides you both with a talking point. This can work better than heading to a noisy bar where you can’t hear each other and are liable to drink too much through sheer nerves!
If you both like history, why not visit the Tullie House Museum, which explores the history of the city under Roman rule, right through to its modern development today. It’s got a great local archaeology collection and some good fossil exhibitions along with a small art gallery. It’s the sort of place you can enjoy wiling away some time in a leisurely fashion before heading on for some refreshments.
The cathedral is also spectacular and well worth a visit, particularly if your date is not from the area. It was originally constructed in 1122 and was restored in 1853, but with still a fair amount of the original building still surviving. See the famous red Carlisle Castle too, built on the site of ancient Roman and Celtic fortresses. Mary Queen of Scots spent a brief spell imprisoned here after losing her throne and it’s a very atmospheric place. See the great views from the high ramparts and even the dungeon stones that prisoners licked to stay hydrated!
If you’re looking for somewhere nice to eat, there’s plenty to choose from. Try Le Gall, which is a fantastic little bistro that does food inspired by all kinds of international cuisines and should suit your date, regardless of tastes! Other good eateries include Essen, a funky new bar-diner with a nice contemporary style and great fusion cooking, Office, which tends to attract the more urban, hip crowd with its huge industrial bar and cube lighting and David’s which is food at its best, a French-British fine dining restaurant with plenty of impressive haute cuisine dishes. Worth saving for the date you pull out the stops for!
These are just a few ideas for dating in Carlisle and there are plenty of other great venues around with their own charm and appeal, so get out there, explore and have plenty of fun in the process!
