What are winks?

If you see someone you like, you can let them know by sending them an ice-breaking wink. It’s free to send as many of these as you like, so don’t be shy! If you want to send a wink, visit their profile and select ‘Send a wink’ from the menu underneath their photograph.

What is my favourites list?

You can add as many people as you like to your favourites list so it’s easy to find them again when you login. When you add someone as a favourite, they are sent an email to let them know so they can find you among our 2 million members!

To add someone as a favourite, go to their profile page and select ‘Add as favourite’ from the menu underneath their photograph.

How do I chat online?

First of all you need to make sure that the member you want to chat to is online too. You can tell if someone is online because it will say so on the bottom of their photograph. You can also see who is online by clicking ‘Who’s online’ along the top menu.

If you see someone you would like to chat to, go to their profile page and click on the ‘Chat to (their name)’ link under their photo. This will open up the DatingAgency.com instant messenger, and you can then chat away!

Of course you can always send a member you like a private message if you don’t want to chat there and then, or if they are not currently online.

How much does it cost to subscribe?

You can choose a monthly plan that's right for you. DatingAgency.com is £19.95 a month, but if you subscribe for 3 months, the cost is just £13.32 a month, and it’s £10.83 a month for a six month subscription.

How do I upgrade my free membership to full membership?

You can upgrade your membership quickly and simply online. Login to DatingAgency.com and click on ‘Upgrade’ which you’ll find along the main navigation menu. Select the length of subscription that’s right for you, and enter your payment details onto our secure payment page.

How do I cancel a subscription?

You can cancel your subscription easily online, at any time. Simply login to DatingAgency.com, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click ‘Contact Support’. Here you will find the ‘Cancel My Subscription’ link.

Is dating online safe?

Safety and security for our members is a priority. We have a huge UK based customer support team who check every photo before it is published and monitor the website seven days a week.

Obviously you should exercise a healthy amount of caution when you meet anyone you don’t know very well – whether you have met them online or in a bar. Meet in a public place and tell a friend where you are going. The benefit of online dating is that you can get to know someone first through private messaging and online chat, before you hand out any personal contact details or meet in person.

In order to chat with, or email another DatingAgency.com member people have to pay to become a full member. This is off-putting to most scammers and time wasters as they don’t want to invest their own money - or want us to have their bank details on file.

If you want to report a profile you may think is suspicious to customer service there is a link at the bottom right hand side of every person’s profile.

Can I block other member’s emails?

Yes, you can choose to ignore another member if you wish. Simply go to their profile page, and select ‘ignore’ in the menu underneath their photo. You can also use your inbox filters to whittle down the winks and messages to those you want to see messages from.

Can I search anonymously?

Yes, but only if you are a full member. If you are a full member and would like to browse other’s profiles without appearing as ‘online’, click ‘Availability’ along the top menu and select 'show me as offline.'

Why should I create a profile?

A profile is your calling card so to speak, so it’s important that you add as much information as possible so others can get a flavour of your personality, the things you enjoy and the qualities you are looking for in someone else.

Why should I add a photo?

It’s true, looks aren’t everything but when you’re dating online you will receive far more attention if you have a photo alongside your profile. When people are searching through hundreds of potential dates those with a photo naturally catch your eye and feel more personal than profiles without.

How do I select which notification emails I receive from you?

You can decide if you would like us to let you know by email when you have a new wink or private message waiting for you.

These are automatically switched on when you first join, but if you would like to turn these off, login to DatingAgency.com, go to ‘Account’ and select ‘Notification Settings’. You can also turn off our weekly ‘Featured Members’ email and site notifications from here.

What are SMS love alerts?

We can send a text message to your mobile phone whenever someone takes an interest in your profile. These include the times when you are sent a private message, wink or gift and when you are added as someone’s favourite.

You can subscribe to any or all of these alerts using your Love Alert settings

It costs one credit per text that we send you. To activate your mobile love alerts, login to DatingAgency.com, select ‘Account’, choose ‘Mobile Settings’ and register your mobile phone number to begin.

How do I create a video profile?

If you have a webcam you can create a video profile. Go to ‘Profile’ along the top menu and click on ‘Video profile’. Then follow our step-by-step instructions to record your own video profile.

How do I use video chat?

If you have a webcam, you can use video chat. If the person you are chatting to doesn’t have a webcam, they will be able to see you but you won’t be able to see them. To use video chat, open up instant messenger by visiting that person’s profile and clicking ‘Chat with (person’s name)’. In the bottom right hand corner of our instant messenger you will see a ‘Send A/V’ button, click on this to open up another window where you can activate your computer’s webcam and microphone.
