Where is the best place to find a mate?to date!!
 | Do you think Dating sites are the best place to find someone to date?
Are there other places that you have found successful?
Maybe the local supermarket? Or the pub...or around the elusive corner!
I'd certainly be interested to know ;-) xx |
 | Hi Shar, If there would have been other places successful, we wouldn't be on here...As for the elusive corner, it's still elusive...
Supermarkets are still best for filling up your fridge with food... x |
 | Have you tried a retailer of "Mates" ?

 | Hi Cohav....yes I can't say I've seen any prospective dating partners in my local supermarket, but you here wonderful stories of people literally bumbing trolley's and the rest is history! ;-)
Mike.... rofl :-)

 | Hi Shar! In theory, you would think dating sites would be the easiest place in the world to find what you're looking for... it's putting it into practice where it all comes unstuck! ;)
I've never pulled in Tescos (!) but I was in an Italian restaurant once when the very attentive waiter slipped me his number! I have to say, it was a toss-up between which was tastiest, him or the tagliatelle!! |
 | Hi Tracey... Lucky girl I must book in at the local Italian restaurant soon lol :-) |
 | It was a laugh on the night, but one date later, I think I should have stuck wih the Italian dish on the plate, haha! |
 | In the workplace, you get chatting to them & get to know the personality and whether you have things in common with them.
I work in a factory where there are a lot of women in the workplace, and regularly chat to them throughout the day ;-) |
 | I'm not going to find a date at work...I work with 4-7 year olds, and the only 2 men on site...1 the married caretaker with 5 kids and the other a young teacher of 25 and newly married!!
No chance there then! :-P |
 | Do voluntary work then
Expand your horizons :-P |
 | My horizons are well expanded thank you!! :-P
*shar thinking I must book in for a nice meal at fabio's!* lol
|
 | Shar I am with you on this one.
I work in a 90% male environment I would say. Most of good ones are married, too young and the rest who are interested in me are interested in flings. So have given up meeting anyone at work.
Most of my friends are happily married, I live in a small village and am one of the two single mums (shock horror!!)I know. So aside from work, shopping and usual chores with having a 5 year old, I don't know where I'm likely to meet a eligible divorcee/single male LOL.
I'm am not clubs so not even going there. Have decided the best bet is to carry on with my interests, jive classes looming ahead and gym etc and see if bump into a "hottie".
Shar - hope you are having a good weekend darling.
x

 | Hi Poppy :-)

*shar off to look up local classes*

 | i think work is the worst place of all to find a date as when it goes wrong it can be very arkward , i have done this twice , never will do again . |
 | Hi Shar and everyone.
Just back from supermarket...nope nothing there but food :(
Go to the Gym and the only singles are a couple of us girls...oh and one guy, nice chatty guy but not boyfriend material.
And as for work...well i'm the oldest my a mile...
Not finished looking round them corners though.
LL x x |
 | Hi Leo..I spend most of my time walking around corners! lol ;-) |
 | Well, I haven't given up on dear old DA yet...
Gawd bless her and all who sail in her!

 | Singles holidays etc, they may be good too...;o)
|
 | Well Shar when you find out can you let me know too cos I can't find anybody to want me !!! |
 | Hi Shar.
I've done all sorts of work, and never met a partner that way. You might stand the best chance working in a hospital where there are people of either sex working in close quarters. Teaching isn't much good - they're nearly all children!
I've met people in natural situations in everyday life, (which could include the supermarket) but that's down to chance, which probably gets slimmer as you get older.
Probably interest groups like evening classes have all the ingredients, a repectful setting, which the possibility of mutual support groups for homework. I've started chatting to a copule of people at the gym that regularly go at the same time as me.
The worst places seem to be nightclubs, because they're so predatory, and the noise means you can't carry on a conversation
Pubs are probably the best place if you like lots of men! lol |
