Drunk on a first dateWhat would you do?
 | I've heard of people who meet "just for a coffee" which is fine for an ice breaker if you live close by, but I would think that the further you have traveled the longer you will want the date to last.
So you meet in a pub, your date has a drink, then another..and another...
Your date gets rat-arsed.
What do you do? Decide that there's no way that you are going to see that drunk again? Tell him/her of your disappointment the next day but be prepared to see how things go the next time?
On an ancient thread I've admitted to my date and I getting rat-arsed on a first (and last!) date, and making a spectacle of ourselves, but wondered what people's reaction to this sort of thing might be.
Coming soon...what do you do if your date's mother comes along to the first date?

 | God there's nothing worse than being out with someone who's slaughtered! Well, not when you should be trying to make an appropriate impression on each other ...
I guess I'm always the designated driver though as I don't like getting caned anyway and that gives me an excuse (if I needed one) for not getting shitfaced!

 | Hi Keith on a first date I always drive and meet them on neutral ground...so no chance of me getting drunk or them come to that!! :-) xx |
 | rofl Keith Can't wait for your next thread!!! ;-) |
 | Keith you make me laugh :-)
Shar - I like you tend to drive and meet on neutral ground so no change of experiences like Keith.
I wait patiently for the next thread :-)

 | Oops I meant no "chance" of experiences like Keith.

 | all the dates i been on everyone as acted how they should with manners , the last date was the best he was every part a gent .
had any of them shown signs of being hammered i would of walked away striaght away and tell them not to contact me again simple as |
 | Tracey I love you...straight to the point!! :-) |
 | You would make no allowance for him being nervous, for example, Tracey? |
 | Well Said Tracey
Just as it should be,i'm lucky as the few dates i have all have been Gentlemen with good manners too

 | thank you all , but cant see allowin for my time to be wasted on drunks , because if they are like that on first date (what would they be like on second one ) i could go down nearest park and pick a drunk if thats what i was looking for . |
 | Would you date someone who pisses themselves laughing? |
 | i wont even bother to answer that keith , but gettin back to the thread question what would you do keith if your date turned up drunk ? |
 | oh blimey Tracey don't ask him that! I dread to think what his reply is going to be!!!!! ;-) |
 | Your date is drunk? Just walk right out that door ... |
 | Drunk on a first date? Vomit copiously over each other is probably the answer to that one. Respect! |
 | Tracey, it would depend on how well I thought I knew her.
I must admit, it wouldn't be a very encouraging start!
But before I meet someone, I usually, if not always, have a "feel" for what sort of person they are...in my scenario they don't turn up drunk, but gradually get that that way during the course of a long meeting.
I must admit I'm surprised at the lack of compassion in the few serious replies.

 | i understand what your saying keith , but no one knows anyone on here untill you actualy meet in person , and we are talkin about the very first date , you cant have compassion for a drunk on first date you would be a fool thats my view anyway .nerves is not a reason to get hammered |
 | Yes I prefer to keep my wits about me!! ;-) |
 | I agree Shar ..... But what would you do if you where the driver of the drunk :-/ poor woman !!!
Sorry Keith but a first date... wouldn't you want to impress your lady .....
