I'm sorry Keith, I have to agree with the others on this one, I would not entertain someone who is slightly pie eyed, let alone drunk.
As for getting drunk slowly through the course of the day with date, if that is what she wanted to then fine she can do it, but I will stay sober bid my farewell at the end of date. The following day I would email her that it hasn't and wouldn't work out for us,& tell her why. if your date can be drunk on first date it doesn't say much for any other time does it.
Minxy hi, whilst I agree in what you say, in principle no I wouldn't & don't want to impress my partner on first date either, sorry, but I go as who I am, as some will know, by going to impress, surely you are still giving a false impression ?. lol probably opened a can of worms here, but if you make this impression, then how long are you going to keep it up,& isn't it going to be a let down when you do finaly show the person that you really aren't as good or as bad as at the beginning. surely go on as you mean to finish, I am of course speaking my own personal thoughts, but yes it's a thread,so if any of you want to question my thoughts (please do it gently ) :)

I was in the situation a while ago,I booked a hotel, traveled for over an hour by train, arrived at the station where I was met by her and her 2 kids (I don't mind kids but was surprised to see them on the 1st date), spent the afternoon traveling around with her and the kids (The 5yr old girl asked me "Are you going to be my new Daddy?"), dropped the kids off at the babysitters and then went for a "quiet drink" with 10 of her friends, she got falling down drunk, vomited in the gutter outside the pub and then I had to walk her 2 miles back to her place as the taxi wouldn't take her, I then put her to bed (fully clothed)and walked to my hotel.
The next morning I got a call asking what had happened the night before and was asked if I wanted to "do it again tonight", I thought I'd cut my losses and walked to the train, never to return.

I do enjoy the odd pint from time to time but I don't think it is the best thing to do on the 1st date, 2nd maybe :)

Hi niterider ....

Your right but what I meant by first impression is not to be drunk Im a sesentive girl and keiths thread struck a chord .....

Recently I met a great guy but unfortunately he did get drunk .... while I was sober. Im not wanting a man to lie about himself however, if he prefers the beer then being out with me he should have just said !!!!

Minxy hi again,
I do understand & sorry for a slight misunderstanding, I hear from where you are coming from, as it was also Keiths thread that got me to answer as well.

Wezzy hi, sorry to hear you seem to have had both barrels shot at you in one hit. don't let it get you down, try again M8, I'm sure there are some good & sensible one's out there. I too would have cut my losses if it's any consolation to you.

Me again,lol,
I would like just to correct myself with the sentence of, I am sure that there are some good & sensible one's out there.
I would like to change that with my apologies to the ladies on this site,as I should be saying that there are a lot of good, sensible & caring ladies out there. As I went to a meet in Essex recently, they proved to be sensible ( shockingly fun ) but, themselves, what you see is what you get, & they were great. So there has to be more, just because they are not our/your age or not our/your type, does not make them any different, same goes with men as well really, any way I just wanted to put the record straight, thanks :)

Good afternoon Mr Niterider :) *hugs*

What do you mean not your type? What was wrong with us?!?! :o ;) lol I dont think I've ever heard any of us called sensible before, you wait til fire and Shazzi and read it they'll rofl lol, it makes me feel all grown up lol

I've never really had that first date thing, never met anyone off of here for dating and got with my ex as we went around in a group so the dating thing never really happened, but as far as I'm concerned if you go out and get drunk you're out on the p*ss not on a date. Surely first dates are about talking and getting to know each other?

Hiya Minxy :)

I guess each situation is different. There's a difference between having one glass of wine too many with your dinner and sitting and guzzling it down as fast as you can.

I dont remember the last time I was drunk, I get a bit tipsy on occasion but I dont really like being drunk so tend to stop at the snuggley falling asleep stage, luckily for some lol

Yes I agree and I would have probably understood that, but its not attractive watching them guzzling :-O.

As for me I know when to stop ... and if the man of my dreams was with me I wouldnt want to miss a thing by being drunk :-D.

I feel exactly the same, and lets face it, it's hardly safe getting pie eyed when you're out with someone who is essentially a stranger, Wezzys date was VERY lucky he was such a gentleman.

It's a gorgeous day here! I feel some house type work coming on! Maybe even some light spring cleaning :D

Hmm, the last thing I would want if I was with someone that I wanted to be with was to be copiously dowsed in a central nervous system depressant!

...And if she did I guess I'd be getting evaluated pretty negatively, therefore I'd keep well out of vomiting range!

I have only had one occasion that someone was drunk when I met up with them...its when they became insulting towards me...that I decided to tell them that they were no 'Oil Painting' and that I found them disgustingly ill mannered and rude. I turned around and left! Told them that we were not suitable for each other! End of story!!!

As for taking along ones mother...er I dont think so my mother well seems to me they obviously seek parental approval ....give them a wide berth!!!! Bev :)

Hiya Pure, * hugs * back,

didn't think that it would be long before I got an answer back from one of you lol, now you know why I had to write the 2nd thread. What's wrong , lol nothing that's just it that is why I would meet you all again, a down to earth crowd, sensible who said that :).
But it does show through the thread, that all you girls so far have picked up on this convo about how far do you go, which just goes to prove what I have said

Hey hey Shazzi, did I mention Essex meet being Sensible crowd lol ( how silly of me ) before our next meet will book a Yoga class me thinks lol, but truly a very genuine lot you are.
Photos yes, I still have them in my camera, did I take some ?, anyway, I have had a busy weekend with Parades for Anzac day. Looking at the sunshine I have just decided to go off to Norfolk for the rest of week, so when I get back I will put all pics on comp and then let you all know what I have of you all. But there was someone else who was taking piccies as well, but not sure who the culprit was lol. Be back on Sunday so see you all then, take care all who come back to this thread
