Silly secrets

Over the years (and years and...) I've met at least 4 women who described themselves on their profiles as non smokers but smoked with me, a "declared" smoker. They didn't smoke much and because they could go a long time without a ciggie didn't consider it would be deception to pass themselves off as a non smoker should they meet a non-smoker. As far as he was concerned they would be a non-smoker.

Now it so happens that for me this is the best type of "non-smoker". I'm not going to feel guilty about smoking with them but if (when?) I stop smoking they wouldn't weaken my resolve too much by smoking around me.

But this line of thinking has got me wondering what other deceptions people may have in their profiles, ones that are bound to be found out.

I'm not thinking of out and out nutters, just what otherwise intelligent and normal people have thought that they could get away with.

I don't expect people to out themselves (and I won't out anyone!) but I'd be interested to hear the anecdotes.

Ok, I own up, I put on my profile that I was divorced. I wasn't but was in the process. Today is the first day that I am officially a divorcee. A day to celebrate a new start for me. Was I wrong to put that I was divorced? Just thought it would save time later changing my status from separated to divorced. I would call that a 'little white lie' as I was intending to get divorced as soon as I possibly could :)

The smell (or even sight) of beetroot will induce a scene from The Exorcist, although I didn't mention root vegtables at all in my profile.

However all the (declareable) dimensions in my profile are correct.

Well, people obviously like talking about themselves!

I presumed someone might have met someone who had been economical with the truth.

Perhaps everyone is just as described in their profile after all.

Actually there are some whose Photo's are slightly, well proberly more than slightly out of date!
Suppose thats being economical with the truth! ;-)
