Kareoke

Sex appeal ......

Ended up at a great kareoke (is that how you spell it?) last night where everyone (not me I hasten to add) was raring to get up and sing. My question is, why is it an average looking bloke/girl suddenly seems more appealing to the opposite sex when they sing a good song? Go figure. Perhaps it the quantities of drink consumed, but take The Rolling Stones as a prime example - although on second thoughts don't.

Good point Jaygee. I think for men it is not necessary to be good looking if you can sing and perform on stage well. ONE advantage of being a man.

Look at the amount of male singers and pop stars that have been over the years. Ok some of them have been good looking but it is not necessary. Do you think that Mick Jagger is good looking? No he ain't What about Meat Loaf? No he ain't.

I have seen Keane play in concert three times. Tom Chaplin is not good looking, but boy can he sing and he has tremendous stage presence. That is enough to make him sexy.

I think women need to be attractive to be able to go far in this line of work. I mean, how many ugly female singers are there? I don't know of many.

Sex appeal is needed for women singers, but not necessary for men. We can get by on pure talent alone...

Oohhhh, that's bound to cause it.....

Snigger :-)

Pietro, I think Paul Potts in great and I have his album. Is he good looking, not really but he does not need it. All you have to do to appreciate him is to listen to him!

He has pure talent and that is all he needs. I have watched his first outing on Britain's got Talent so many times. Just type his name into You Tube. Amazing - and I don't even like opera but he is changing my mind.

For me as soon as karaoke starts I'm off out of the door looking for a 'real' band instead.

Had no idea who Paul Potts is-usually give so called talent shows a wide berth.
You Tubed him and have to admit he is rather good but don't feel inclined to go out and buy or pay to download him,or even get him for free ha ha

ok, I just youtubed Paul Potts and listened to approx. 1 min before I had to switch it off for fear of damaging my hearing !!!

oh dear - not to my taste.

Give me real opera any day.

Still, what a boring place this would be if we all liked the same thing
