Didn't mean to be personal Peppercorn, only to observe the increasing risk with age that's all.

Regarding your friend, well I've just tinkered with my profile a little bit in the interests of reducing ambiguity, and I did add the comment, that I view fatherhood as being more than a sperm donor and a pay cheque - if this is the future, then I'm glad to have remained single - it sounds worse than Kafka! I'm not keen on absolute power unless it is universally applied to all, as in the great nuclear reactor in the sky, and certainly not coming from one gender or the other - what's the child supposed to do. Obey? Not being a dog, I was never too good at that!

My criticism though is less of her, but of the sort of dysfunctional society this sort of thing will lead to, if it is seen as the new model for childrearing. It's all been done before, the sad story of the island of Lesbos tells it all. God help the children! I love Greek mythology - it taught me so much more than Janet and John! Any society divided along such lines may find it very difficult to collectively survive when there is the need for collective action. One only has to look at the mess that twentieth century social engineering caused - high rise legoland cubes in which people were terrified of each other. I can't see much need for the integelligensia in such a society - it contains all the seeds of it's own destruction. It is perhaps noteworthy that many of the countries that control the oil that we need have a view of women which is almost diametrically opposed to that of your friend. At least karma is not sexist!

Such deep thought and so little time - it's my 'weekend' at the moment, and I need to buy stuff! :)

Well mousebat, having read your sarcasm, it all rather begs the question.

As you are apparantly someone who is entirely self-contained, self-sufficient and highly superior, why are you on this site?

funny, I could ask you excatly the same question for exactly the same reasons! However, I have no interest to know why you're on this site.

"entirely self-contained, self-sufficient and highly superior..."

couldn't agree more! Thank you for the compliment ;)

"why are you on this site? "

I would have thought that was obvious?
to feed my narcissistic personality !!

Mousebat,I haven't read all the posts that led up to your latest, but I'd just like to say that this site is short of good pithy comments like yours...keep up the good work!

Wohoobaby - yes, I would date single mums, and have done...

Mousebat, like what you're saying... regarding "Or do some men feel threatened by dominant, intelligent, career minded women who want to have it all, career and a family?"

Dominance and subserviance are hand-in hand, I'm egalitarian so dominance an antithesis... 'have it all' - greed doesn't attract me... intelligent and independant oh yes please, with or without a career, with or without children... so long as they don't turn to stone while they admire their reflection :D

Threatened - no, but I do have a healthy fear of women - some just don't know how wonderful or powerful they are.

"Most" men are a little scared of women because we have the power (like he-man) that's why they're always trying to steal it away from us.
"Most" men are ruled by their penis and their penis is ruled by pretty/ugly, tall/short, fat/thin, young/old, females (if they're straight), that's probably why gay men aren't scared of women.

Welcome back DB *hugs* :)

I used the "Most" for WS and touchstone :p

being a self confessed narcissist I often look in the mirror and stare in wonder, totally in awe at what I see... I'm still a hot blooded female!

I think I'm more like the one that turns people to stone with just a look. Maybe I should change my name to Medusa!

pureinnocence - great post!

Don't you just enjoy all the fun and humour this site brings :) ?

I love a bit of fun and humour :D

Thanks for the compliment :) You're not too bad yourself, your posts that is of course ;)

Seriously it's nice reading someone who can argue a point without resorting to personal insults :)

Thank you PI.

You're not too bad yourself, and not just your posts !
*mousebat flutters eyelashes*
I'm not fussy !!!!

....just jesting :):):):)

Anyway...

Personal insults are often resorted to when people can't keep up with a debate and no longer have a point to make.

Insulting people to get an emotional response out of them is pointless and ultimately, self defeating. If you insult a poster on a personal level, and not on their arguments, then the person doing the insulting tends to lose their credibility...

'Personal insults are often resorted to when people can't keep up with a debate and no longer have a point to make... etc, etc' (mousebat)

I couldn't agree more, so why do so many women feel the need to do it?

'Most men are a little scared of women because we have the power (like he-man) that's why they're tying to steal it away from us... ...I use the 'most' for WS and touchstone' (PI)

You insult me. None of you have any acquaintance with my penis, and you are never likely to. I have seen no evidence whatsoever of female power, but considerable evidence of female destruction, indiscipline, abuse and plain rudeness. How the hell can you talk of respect? A lot of you need to try earning some. Thank God you are not all like this, and take your responsibilities seriously.

I am not scared of women. However I want nothing further to do with you. You are quite clearly not my equal, because you are unable to respect another point of view. You have now lost my respect, which is I why I will ever not bother to complain. What effort have you made to get to know me? You have done a great job of putting me right off this site - if I wanted a domestic with a group of mothers I would have got married to the wrong woman and had children by her. That is not what I wanted to do, and that is not what I have done.

Have you ever thought that perhaps this childish level of argument is the result of spending far too much time alone with children, and not enough in the wider world? I joined the site to date a single woman - this is clearly not the place to do it.

You have your 'victory'. Goodbye.

Haha, I had to get WD to read that to figure out what the tantrum was about!

I meant I'd used "most" men for WS and touchstone so they, in particular, knew that I didn't mean ALL men not that I meant THEY were most men!

Ok I still think that sounds stupid!

Oh well "he" says it reads right so I'll assume even a plank of 2 X 4 will understand it better than I do :p

I am having great problems with trying to think like a man! Like most people I assume people will take things as I've written them but then they read them and put a whole different slant on them. It's most annoying!

Rambling is one of my vices. Especially after a few drinks, I'll waffle on and on about rubbish that nobody understands! You should see my type chatting when I've had quite a few! I bet you didn't know I was multi lingual did you lol

See I'm off again and not had a drop yet!

It's my sons birthday today so we're off out for lunch in a bit.

I think I shall have to check out your profile ;)
And what do you mean "not fussy"??? Are you saying you'd have to be not fussy??? :o *sniffle*

Regarding medusa, would it be easier to grow snakes on a bald head or one with hair? ... thinking of garden statues...

... I wonder if people with inferiority complexes would be less likely to date a single mum or dad?

Pure - thanks - I'll be around inbetween house reconstruction events n stuff :) ...

"Regarding medusa, would it be easier to grow snakes on a bald head or one with hair? ... thinking of garden statues... "

ummm...not something I have given any thought to!
I would have said the snakes are the hair of medusa and so they grow from a bald head just as normal hair- who knows??? !!! ????

"I wonder if people with inferiority complexes would be less likely to date a single mum or dad?"

Interesting statement. Not something I have given any thought to either! *mousebat now ponders*

Personally, I don't find those with an inferiority complex attractive. And I'm sure, being a self confessed narcissist is very off putting to many many others. There's no room left to love anyone else !!!!!! :):):)
