DAFFODILS - DON`T EAT THEM !

Hello playmates.Hope u all ok.Well i went to party at weekend and as we were sitting round the table having a laugh,someone mentioned that they were hungry.Well twonk that i am,i said "We dont need any food,there`s a vase of daffs on the table" Better explain,at this point i had had a few drinks but was not drunk.I then proceeded to munch my way through 2 flower heads and 1 stalk followed by a swig of water from said vase.How very funny i thought.What wasnt funny was waking up at 2 in the morning and depositing the contents of my stomach into the loo,at a speed of 85 mph,over the course of 10 minutes! I DIDNT REALISE THE BUGGARS ARE POISONOUS! I`m sticking to Snapdragons from now on!

Hows the old tummy today? Did you know if a dog eats enough Daffodils he could be dead in a few hrs? :o/

Lol, I wasnt calling you a dog hun honest hehe, its a true fact that should a dog eat too many daffodils it can kill them ;o)

Dogs can be indiscriminate eaters, and are often seen eating grass and garden plants. Whilst most plants are not toxic some, such as the Daffodil, can be lethal.

All parts of the daffodil plant (Narcissus poeticus) which is a member of the lily family (Amaryllidaceae) are toxic - especially the bulb. If a dog eats or chews the bulbs, leaves or the flowers it can develop signs of poisoning, including : Diarrhoea Vomiting Staggering Collapse Unconsciousness Coma or Death in a few hours

The most serious signs are only seen if the dog has eaten a large amount but the LD50 (dose at which 50% of animals will die) for dogs is 15g of Daffodil bulbs ...which is not a lot.

seems a cost effective, but extreme way of detoxing !

I've just done a very similar thing to Squiddly diddly.

I actually ate some daffodil bulbs and ended up in hospital.

Doctors say i should be out next spring.

I was just thinking.Why did they have daffs on table.They are out in the Spring.Do u think they imported them specially for me?
