Greatest instrumental tunesjust for a change...
 | Ok - we get the occasional "favourite songs" thread, but what about your fave instrumentals?
i've just heard a couple of henry mancini tunes (had to hum along!), and i'm thinking of loading up some john williams, maybe ennio morricone
one of my other favourites is albatross by fleetwood mac
anyone got some to add to the list? |
 | shadupa ya face.
ups sorry thats not instrumental.
drives ya mental tho :p |
 | Downbeats...Midnight express
Eliminators...Punta Baja
Essex..Cemetary Stomp
Wynder K Frog...Jumping Jack flash is a good one with surround sound.
Not that I usually listen to instrumentals much but they are one of a few I have come across from knowing someone in the past!
I was taken to see Curtis Stigers last year and he is very good on Instrumentals! |
 | Mine has to be Mark Knopfler's Going Home, the theme tune from Local Hero, happy memories and the build up to the best bit is fantastic. Another favourite is Bert Kaempfert's 'A Swinging Safari'. Grew up with my dad playing it on the record player incessantly but recently it was showing on the Ing Direct ads.
PS why are new threads taking ages to show up on the home page? That's how I normally look for new threads but you've got to trawl through the Conversations page and see which ones have been posted most recently!
DA - take note!!!

 | I like Bach's Minuet in G Minor. |
 | And all the variations on the minuet. I also like _Bye Bye, French Canadian Guy_. |
 | The last one's a parody on the American pie title song. There's another parody done on that called, "Bye, Bye, Mr. CIO Guy" done by some guys at Microsoft. You can watch the video here:

 | And I also like the tune of that hymn _What a friend we have in Jesus_. |
 | My favourites are loads of stuff by Santana - the South American fell is just irresistable |
 | Terence - I love his music! |
 | Isn't it just the best - the rythmn and combination of the guitar and percussion is fantastic !!
I had a two week holiday in Cuba, and this style of music was everywhere - it was blissful !! |
 | It's the sort of music that you just want to get up and dance to.
I want to try salsa dancing but am too self-conscious to try classes on my own. Might try to nag some of my friends into submission and see if they'll come too!

 | I tried that, and it was really good fun, not least of all because there were lots more ladies than chaps, so being a partner was not an issue !!
This year at work we are thinking of having the Xmas "do" at a salsa club, so it will be interesting to see how much I remember !
You should give it a try - you will have a great time !! |
