Catching up!

Hi Everyone,

I don't know, I go away for a few days and come back to all sorts of news, gossip, transferees from MSE etc etc!

I kept reading that the threads were dropping off a bit - still took me an hour to read through them all! Very interesting they were too some of them - sorry to hear your sad news Captain Dogfish, but glad you're sounding so upbeat about it. Keith I kinda understood what you were saying, but might make more sense of it when I've topped up on caffine. Lots of 'likes and dislikes' have I and currently dating someone who has loads of the 'dislikes'!!! Jan, I'm yet to try goose down duvets but can thoroughly recommend memory foam mattresses!! For those who might be interested I'm currently reading the PC world special offers for students leaflet and the instruction booklet for a combi boiler. I much prefer DA to MSE........but not really sure why......it's a size thing I think - feels cosier somehow.

Chris it has been so quiet on the threads this week and I know I for one was busy at the weekend and the sun was shining but even in the evenings this week it has been virtually at a stand still. Its even been quiet on MSE. Shar xx

Hmmmm.........I'm wondering if people are migrating back to MSE. Having had a little look around I have noticed that Russell Grant is still on his hols (not that I EVER read them of course!!!). Also it seems to me that DA is adopting some of the negative features of MSE, for example you are limited to viewing thumbnail pics only now if a non paying member (bit of a bummer for those with aging eyesight) and yet, as far as I can see, thus far, none of the positive features (limited but free two way messaging).

Hi Madrid when I logged on I had a message from Gordan saying hope I did'nt mind him looking at my profile (as if!! lol) as he was looking at the new photo format! And so then I looked at my profile to see new photo format and all my friends had disappeared!! :(

Shar I just looked at your profile too! You've put lots of lovely new photos on and I can't see them!!!!!

I nominate Shar to email Gordon back and ask him what the hecks going on!!!

Nuff said...what the hell do DA think their doing...absolute hogwash as it is now....bring it back DA or u loose one member for sure....poooh.

All genuine good members of DA please stand up and be counted,do not stand for this rubbish they are dealing us now.
I looked at MSE and did not like the format....thought DA was much better...now both are very similar....sorry but absolute crap.

If I wanted to be a member of a site that was like MSE, I'd have joined MSE. I did try it for a while but didn't like it so kept up my membership of DA.

Come on Admin - get real. Why change something that works?

Well put Jonathon,i am a DA member from before threads but now agree the site is going downhill fast.

Didn't like the look of MSE either,but this site is broke and needs fixing.

Did contact the powers that be re:Friends dissapeared and unable to reply to messages in my in box,guess what still broke and no reply from THEM:(

Think more members will dissapear and that will be very sad.

Hi Shar and everyone else..........signing your petition Shar x Looking at the conversation threads in a very realistic way - the past 2 weeks conversations have grinded, almost, to a halt. Members that have been contributing on a regular basis have been doing it since threads started and a few have joined in along the way and many successful things have been achieved through this, which is wonderful. We try and get new members to participate, however, only a very few actually join in.
Some weeks ago (and apologies to you......B...only using this as a reference in context )it was said that there are always the same faces on the conversation threads, and heaven forbid, are we in the pay of DA.. Also, it is the usual contributors to the threads that make a point of welcoming new people to the site and encourage them to join in the threads. Only a handful of new people ever go and in turn welcome 'newbies'.

Now, these past two weeks, the threads have been rather quiet because the usual contributors have not been contributing - therefore, a point to ponder !!!!!

Just my thoughts.

VS

VS...not contributing because quite frankly they've/we've had enough?

That's gone through my mind more than once...

Am off to find this petition!!!
