Winter seems to be arriving

The first thing I always enjoy, is those early morning walks with the dogs, seeing the spiders webs on the hedgerows that are frosted, glistening in the morning dew or frost, with the early morning sunshine on them !!

They look so beautiful and fragile !!

What do you like about the onset of winter ?

Halloween !!!!!! Best time of the year in my opinion.

Is that because of witches and goblins, or trick or treat ??

I like to see the fresh crisp frost on the gound glistening in the sun and seeing the perfectly spun spiders web frozen over in great detail..Well better to see them than walking straight into them I guess!

I'm a keen golfer, so for me its got to be the changing colours of the trees and shrubs on the golf course at this time of year, nothing finer than a crisp autumn morning playing golf and taking in the stunning scenery, oh and a flask of something special to warm me up.

Halloween .... Yes cos it gives mum a chance to fly her broom again!!!!!

The leaves on the trees changing colour and the dark nights when you're out and about, people have their curtains closed, the lights on and you know they're nice and cosy inside whilst you're freeeeeeeeezing!

The Fall Season is upon us all, all the leaves have changed color and are are falling to the ground hence the name Fall.

The weather starts changing and the frosts etc. along with the spider webs and frost on the roads and sidewalks.

If you have to park your car outside the car is covered and the windshield has to be be cleaned oh the joys of not having a garage. I park in a underground garage.

The first signs of Fall "Thanksgiving" is here it is celebrated next weekend it will be a long weekend. Thanksgiving Dinner is as big as Christmas. Turkey and all the trimmings etc.

The Americans celebrate Thanksgiving on the last Thursday in November.

Then we have Halloween which is huge here lots of $$$$ shelled out on candy for the children going door to door "Trick or Treating" in their fancy costumes I personally get a charge out of the little ones they are sooo funny and cute.

Of course they are hoping for snow in the Mountains for the skiiers, but more often than not it is man made.

The operators of the ski lodges hope and pray for the "White Stuff" in November as all the snow sport tourists world wide start coming to B.C. for the mountains and to ski/snow board etc. As long as it stays in the mountains that is all I worry about. LOL

Quite fond of the winter myself. The period just running up to Christmas, when lights are on the trees, it's cold, and you know the festive session is upon us.
Not to fond of working in it though :)

Good points are: walking in the cold/frost/snow then coming in and getting warmed up with a mug of hot chocolate (and proper marshmallows in the top just finishes it off beautifully ... or a bit of whipped cream), the colour of the light and the starkness of the bare trees against the sky; snow ... but there is never enough these days and watching the waves crashing on a beach with a brisk wind and the sun blazing down.

Bad points are: sore joints; a north wind (brrrrr ... cuts you right to the bone); rain, rain and more rain and getting up in the dark.
