Rent a Date for CharityJust letting you know
 | Set up by Lisa Connell, a gorgeous, vivacious and very brave 28 year old, who sadly suffers from an inoperable brain tumour, rentadateforcharity.com was set up to help raise £1million pounds towards research into this, one of the most devastating of cancers, which typically affects young people.
Lisa has had a fair amount of press and media coverage, as you will see from the site, but she needs to maintain this profile to get anywhere near her target, especially as she is terminally ill.
Members can log onto the site and either register as a prospective date themselves, or bid to date someone else, auction style.
There are celebrity dates on there as well as non-celebs just looking to support a really worthwhile cause and have some fun. Whether you’re male or female, looking to bid on a date or register as one yourself, dates are all over the UK – not just in London!
One of the dates you can rent is with our very own lovely Jo Hemmings!
Go get her! G :-) |
 | Coronation Street's Actor Jimmi Harkishin (Dev) £750 raised to go on a date with him and auction closed!.... Oh! darn!...he's YUMI!.... |
 | Aww what a sad thing, she's a very brave lady.
I had a good look in the site but I'm not brave enough to bid on there, but I hope a lot of people do, its a very worthwhile cause.
Fingers crossed it raises a lot of money for the charity.
Tawny x |
 | I'll start the bidding for the two above! |
 | Hehe, thanks WD, hope you won't need to smash your piggy bank to afford us though :) xxx |
 | Hiya WD!
You could start something with that idea.....and I wonder how much people would be prepared to bid for a date with a DA member? Could be a whole new way of dating - ha ha! ....all for a good cause, of course.
|
 | Good idea Meltingheart,
I'd put myself up for auction but Id also have a 'buy it now' price of £4.99 and a clause in the contract about no negative feedback.
Stoat |
 | Hahahaha Stoaty... you been spending too much time on Ebay again? ;)x
Melting.. that is one hell of an idea!..... y'know, I think you just might have something there.. what does Gordon think?...x |
 | ohhhhh can I bid on WD ;-) |
 | Hi DG,
Spent ages on ebay looking for 11 inch heels.
Found some the other day in Lidl.
|
 | But Stoaty, they just won't go with your lycra luv...try Aldi! |
 | Not doin Lycra anymore, (see Doon the Toon thread)
although it was quite warm.
And it was proper world cup MTB Trek factory gear I'll have you know. |
 | Now if I was to bid on a date in costume,
I would donate a fair amount to date Michelle Pfieffer in the catwoman outfit from Batman whatever it was.
Might cause a bit of a stir in Costa Coffee Grantham though.
And definately one I would not be wearing lycra for.
If you can fix that admin. I will be impressed indeed. (and broke) |
 | Hi Stoatholder
You're selling yourself short!!!
I'd have quite a high 'Reserve Price' and it would take someone really keen (or desperate) to outbid him - lol! |
 | Thanks melting, nice to be appreciated.
I would find it difficult knowing which ebay category to put myself in though.
Contenders might be:
toys and games, local services, collectables, but most probably
Antiques.
ahh well, in reality I'll be sitting on an old pasting table, at a car boot sale next to the old hi fi speakers and an unopened water filter cartridge. On my forehead is a white sticker with 20p written in black felt tip. Later that same afternoon you can get me for free in the skip at the edge of the field.

 | Oh Stoat! - sounds like you need your ego massaged a bit? Are you telling me no-one has bidded for you yet? |
 | I had one 'best offer' from someone in Stoke, but that involved a week long date in their house while they were on holiday and me walking their dogs three times a day.
Needless to say I declined that one.
I think I'll have to get rid of the reserve and offer free postage. Might swap the stoat photo to the portrait, that will generate more interest.

 | ...or maybe you could try 'Buy one get one free' ??? |
 | Thats a good idea, rent me and the stoat on a date to a venue of your choice.
You could be onto something there. The ladies always like the furry critters. Just hope there are no burly farmers with rabbit problems.
(no, dont even go there!)
