Eateries in Winchester such as the Hotel du Vin and Bistro with its fabulous food make obvious places to meet someone. You could sit with a coffee and read a book and, you never know, you may catch the eye of someone. Maybe someone will start to chat to you about what you’re reading and, if they don’t, then what’s the worst that can happen? Well, nothing actually and you haven’t lost anything either.
Winchester offers all types of social events that you could attend to increase the chance of finding a date. Accept all invitations to parties, weddings, pubs – everything. You might find that someone turns up who you’ve never met before and you might just hit it off. After all, you’re not going to meet anyone in your own living room. Remember too that you’re probably not the only person hoping to find someone to go with on a date. When it comes to singles Winchester has its fair share. There’s a special person for all of us. We’ve just got to get out there to meet them.
There is a host of award winning restaurants and pubs in the city too and this is where many Winchester singles hang out. There are great pubs too. The Wykeham Arms near the cathedral is a fantastic place as it’s full of atmosphere. The Green Man is a good meeting place as it has been refurbished in great colours and draws in a large crowd. The Bell Inn too offers good food and is well worth a visit.
Once you’ve met someone, you’ll soon discover there’s loads to do in Winchester. As well as pubs, bars and restaurants, the city is jam packed with museums, historic buildings and green spaces. Whatever your interest you’re sure to find something you’d enjoy doing with your date. If you’re feeling energetic there’s the River Park Leisure Centre. Or for something quieter and more sedate why not try walking round the fantastic Houghton Lodge Gardens which have something to offer whatever the time of year. You can enjoy coffee and cakes there with your date too.
The South Downs lie on Winchester’s doorstep. This is a fantastic area for outdoor pursuits such as walking and cycling. If you haven’t yet met that special date maybe you could join one of the groups that regularly get together for different types of outdoor activity. It’s great to meet other like minded people and you never know, there may be just that special someone who will invite you on a date.
Remember, don’t try to rush things. Singles in Winchester have never had it so good. There are clubs, bars, pubs and restaurants all full of people wanting to have fun.
