In short

We checked five agencies and matchmakers serving Brisbane on their own websites on 20 October 2026. Queensland requires introduction agents to be licensed and to show the number on their website: three of the five do. Only two publish any price. Check the licence online before you book. DatingAgency.com is not an agency.

Brisbane is the one city in this series where the law gives you a quick first check: Queensland requires introduction agents to be licensed and to show the licence number on their website. We list five firms that say on their own websites that they serve Brisbane, what each publishes, and which licence number, if any, it shows. Everything comes from each firm's own website as it read on 20 October 2026, and its own documents take precedence over our summary. No listing is paid for and none carries an affiliate link.

Who's working in Brisbane right now

Ideal Introductions

A Brisbane matchmaker that says it has operated since 1991 and serves Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Ipswich. It works with singles from their early 20s to their 80s, and also offers introductions for companionship rather than a long-term partner. You start with a five-minute discovery call or a free compatibility match, then a one-to-one consultation at its office. It lists a phone number, 07 3220 0171, but no street address on the pages we read.

You and I Introductions

A Brisbane agency that says it was established in 1966, offering matchmaking, dating coaching and social events, with a premium matchmaking division called Intentional Dating. It introduces people aged 25 and over, in Brisbane and Australia-wide. Its pages list phone numbers but no street address, and say consultations are in person or online.

Elite Introductions

An executive matchmaking firm with an office at Level 54, 111 Eagle Street, and others in Sydney and Melbourne. Its Brisbane page says it connects you with matches who share "your education, success, social status". You start with a free consultation.

A matchmaker with an office at Level 10, 10 Eagle Street, and others in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. It offers matchmaking for men, women and LGBTI+ clients, with paid VIP and Private memberships and a free Open Membership for women aged 25 to 70, whose profiles are considered for introductions to paying members.

Find Fit Love

A Melbourne-based matchmaker for active, health-minded singles, with a Brisbane page but no Brisbane address; its only listed office is on St Kilda Road, Melbourne. Applying is free and you pay only when an introduction goes ahead.

Licence numbers shown, side by side

Agency Licence number shown on its site Where we saw it
Ideal Introductions Licence No: 3301991 Footer of its "How it works" page
Elite Introductions Introduction Agency Licence #: 4755135 Footer of its home and Brisbane pages
You and I Introductions 4830108 on its Brisbane page; "No. 48301084" in a heading on its home page Brisbane and home pages
HYTCH Private Search None on the pages we read Home, Brisbane and memberships pages
Find Fit Love None on the pages we read Brisbane page

We haven't checked these numbers against the Queensland register, and two numbers that differ by a digit on the same site may simply be a typing error. Either way, it takes a minute to look up an introduction agent's licence on the Queensland Government website before you book. Where we didn't see a number, ask the firm for it and check that too.

Prices side by side, with the date we checked

Agency Published price What the price covers Checked
Find Fit Love A$350 per successful introduction; free to apply Charged when both people accept and a first date is confirmed 20 Oct 2026
You and I Introductions A$97 for a 50-minute one-to-one discovery and strategy consultation The consultation only; no membership prices published 20 Oct 2026
Ideal Introductions Not published Free compatibility match and discovery call first 20 Oct 2026
Elite Introductions Not published Free consultation first 20 Oct 2026
HYTCH Private Search Not published for VIP or Private; Open Membership for women is free Its FAQ says both paid memberships include a promise of introductions 20 Oct 2026

You and I's matchmaking FAQ says fees in the industry "can range from $100 to $10,000 and sometimes higher depending on the company". That is a general statement, not its own price. In Queensland, a licensed agent must give you a disclosure statement showing the cost of each service level before you sign, so you shouldn't have to guess.

How each one vets the people you'll meet

  • Find Fit Love says it runs an ID and selfie check through an accredited third-party provider before an introduction, and doesn't store images of your ID.
  • HYTCH says it is "strict about meeting all potential matches in person" before presenting them.
  • Ideal Introductions says every member "has been personally interviewed, profiled and screened". It doesn't mention ID checks.
  • You and I Introductions says it vets every member and that matches are "physically verified for safety", without describing the steps.
  • Elite Introductions says applicants go through a "multi-step screening process" before being offered membership.

Only Find Fit Love explains what it checks. For the others, ask whether "screened" means an ID check, a relationship-status check, or a conversation. Our guide to how agencies vet members explains the difference.

What the fee actually buys you

The published terms are thin here. Intentional Dating's terms page describes the firm as an introduction facilitator and says outcomes are "solely the responsibility of the individuals", but doesn't cover fees, refunds or cancellation. Elite Introductions' terms page doesn't cover them either. HYTCH promises introductions on its paid memberships without saying how many.

Find Fit Love is the most specific: no fee if you decline before a date is confirmed, and if either person cancels before the meeting, the fee is credited towards your next confirmed introduction.

That makes Queensland's disclosure statement the most useful document you'll see. Before you sign, the agent must give you one covering its services, how introductions are made, the cost of each service level, when payments are due, its refund policy and any early-termination charges. If an agent starts work before you sign, or doesn't give you the statement, you can cancel without penalty.

The rules that protect you in Queensland

Queensland has the most detailed rules in Australia, under the Introduction Agents Act 2001:

  • Licence: introduction agents must hold one and show the number in their advertising and on their website.
  • Written agreement: you sign before any service starts, and get a signed copy.
  • Cooling-off: you can end the agreement before 5pm on the third clear business day after you receive your signed copy. The agent can keep no more than $50 or 10% of the price, whichever is less, and must refund the rest within seven days.
  • Upfront limit: on an agreement of $500 or more, no more than 30% upfront. Queensland's own example: on a $3,000, 12-month contract, no more than $900.

Our guide to dating agencies in Australia covers the exemptions and compares Queensland with other states, and contracts and refunds explains how to cancel in writing.

What to ask at your first consultation

  1. What is your licence number? (Then check it.)
  2. May I take the disclosure statement home before I sign?
  3. What is the full fee, including GST, and how much is due upfront?
  4. How many introductions will I get, and does one I decline count?
  5. How many current members fit what I'm looking for, by age and area?
  6. Do you check ID? Anything else, such as relationship status?
  7. If I'm on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, will my matches be in Brisbane?

Our full list of questions and what happens at the first interview will help you prepare, and the warning signs guide covers pressure to sign on the day.

If something goes wrong

Problem Where to go
You want to cancel in the cooling-off period Write to the agent before 5pm on the third clear business day, and keep a copy
The agency won't cancel or refund Write to it first; then the Office of Fair Trading on 13 QGOV (13 74 68)
An introduction asks you for money Don't pay; tell the agency, report it to Scamwatch, and to ReportCyber if you've lost money or personal information
You feel unsafe Leave, and call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency or Policelink on 131 444 otherwise

The Office of Fair Trading can help with conciliation, but it can't order a refund; only a tribunal or court can. If you've already paid a scammer, call your bank straight away. Our safety guide has more.

Our own online service, listed separately

DatingAgency.com is not one of the agencies above. We run an online dating service where you do the searching yourself: nobody interviews members or picks matches. Joining, making a profile and browsing are free; reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership that renews until you cancel. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, and what members write about themselves isn't checked. How our service works and our prices give the details.

Questions people ask

Does a Brisbane dating agency need a licence?

Yes. Queensland requires introduction agents to hold a licence and to show the number in their advertising and on their website, and you can check a licence on the Queensland Government website. On 20 October 2026, three of the five firms we checked showed a licence number on their own sites.

How much does a dating agency cost in Brisbane?

Only two of the five firms we checked publish a price: Find Fit Love charges A$350 per successful introduction, and You and I Introductions lists a 50-minute consultation at A$97. The others quote fees after a consultation, so ask for the full price and the disclosure statement before you sign.

Is there a cooling-off period for dating agencies in Queensland?

Yes. You can end an introduction agreement before 5pm on the third clear business day after you receive your signed copy. The agent can keep no more than $50 or 10% of the price, whichever is less, and must refund the rest within seven days.

Can a Brisbane agency ask for the whole fee upfront?

Not on an agreement of $500 or more. Queensland limits what an introduction agent can take upfront to 30% of the price. On a $3,000 contract, that means no more than $900 before the service is provided.

Is DatingAgency.com one of the agencies listed?

No. We are not an agency and nobody here picks matches. Our online dating service appears in its own section, labelled as ours.
