In short
We checked four agencies and matchmakers serving Canberra on their own websites on 20 October 2026. One lists a Canberra address, in Barton; three serve the city from Sydney or Melbourne. Only one publishes a price: A$350 per successful introduction. The ACT has no agency-specific cooling-off rule, so get the terms in writing. DatingAgency.com is not an agency.
| Agencies listed | 4, each checked on its own website |
|---|---|
| With a Canberra address | 1 of 4: Blue Label Life, in Barton |
| Publishing a price | 1 of 4: A$350 per successful introduction |
| ACT cooling-off | No agency-specific rule; 10 business days only for uninvited sales of more than $100 |
| Checked on | 20 October 2026 |
Few matchmakers list a Canberra address, and most of those with a Canberra page are based in Sydney or Melbourne. We list four that say on their own websites that they serve Canberra: one with a Canberra address and three that serve the city from elsewhere. Everything comes from each firm's own website as it read on 20 October 2026, and its own documents take precedence over our summary. No listing is paid for and none carries an affiliate link.
Who's working in Canberra right now
Blue Label Life (Canberra office)
The only one of the four with a Canberra address: Level 1, The Realm, 18 National Circuit, Barton. It also has offices in Sydney and Melbourne. It describes itself as a matchmaker for busy professional and executive singles, and says it has helped "professionals, executives, divorcees, widowers and seniors" and matched people in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. Its Canberra page speaks to people "living in Canberra, Belconnen or Fyshwick".
The process covers interviews, screening, introductions, coaching and follow-ups. You see photos and profile details before each date, and the matchmaker collects feedback afterwards. It offers a free 30-minute phone consultation. Its terms are the most specific of the four about what membership includes (see below).
Vital Partners (serves Canberra from Sydney)
Vital Partners' only published address is in Sydney, at Suite 702, Level 7, 109 Pitt Street. Its home page says its team is "located in Sydney and Canberra" and serves "genuine singles in NSW & ACT", and it has pages for Belconnen, the Canberra city centre, Kingston, Manuka, Queanbeyan, Tuggeranong and Woden. Its Canberra page, though, invites you to "simply visit our office in Sydney", so ask where your consultations will take place.
It offers a free consultation. When there's a possible match, it contacts each person first and shares photos, a description and interests before phone numbers are exchanged. Its FAQ says it doesn't limit the number of matches, but that "match volumes are largely dependant upon supply and demand", so narrow requirements mean fewer introductions.
Find Fit Love (serves Canberra from Melbourne)
A Melbourne-based matchmaker for active, health-minded singles, with an office at 470 St Kilda Road and a Canberra page. It says it introduces singles "across Canberra and the whole of the ACT", from Braddon and Kingston to Belconnen, Gungahlin, Woden, Tuggeranong and Molonglo, and works with people in Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Googong and Bungendore. Its application asks how far you're willing to travel for a first date.
It is frank about the city's size: "It is smaller than Sydney or Melbourne, and we are not going to pretend otherwise." It also says some introductions take longer in a city it has opened more recently. Applying is free and you pay only when an introduction goes ahead.
Elite Introductions (serves Canberra from elsewhere)
An executive matchmaking firm with offices in Sydney (Level 26, 1 Bligh Street), Melbourne and Brisbane, and no Canberra address. Its home page names Canberra among the cities where it serves "high-achieving singles", and says it works "exclusively with executives and successful business owners". You begin with a private consultation. Its footer shows a Queensland introduction agency licence number, 4755135; licensing is a Queensland requirement, so the number matters most to its Brisbane clients.
Prices side by side, with the date we checked
| Agency | Published price | What the price covers | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Find Fit Love | A$350 per successful introduction; free to apply | Charged once both people agree; no fee if either of you declines | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Blue Label Life | Not published | Up to 12 months, about one introduction a month; free phone consultation first | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Vital Partners | Not published | Free consultation first; no cap on matches | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Elite Introductions | Not published | Private consultation first | 20 Oct 2026 |
Three of the four keep their prices for the consultation, so decide what you can afford before you go, and ask for the full fee and payment schedule in writing. Our guide to whether a matchmaker is worth it shows how to work out the cost of each introduction, which is the fairest way to compare a membership with a per-introduction price.
How each one vets the people you'll meet
- Find Fit Love says it verifies identity "through an independent third-party process before any introduction is made", confirms relationship intent and doesn't keep licence or passport images on file.
- Vital Partners says it will "meet, screen and qualify everyone" and carries out "thorough screenings and vetting processes" so that matches are "genuine and unattached", without describing the steps.
- Blue Label Life says its matches are "carefully screened, vetted, and selected", and its terms say people found outside its own database are screened "as per our policy".
- Elite Introductions says all applicants go through a "multi-step screening process" before being offered membership.
Only one of the four says how it checks identity. An interview tells an agency how someone presents; it doesn't confirm that they are single, or that what they said about their job or age is true. Our guide to how agencies vet members explains what to ask for.
What the fee actually buys you
- A set number of introductions. Blue Label Life's terms say membership lasts up to 12 months, can be put on hold for six months, and entitles you to one profile or introduction a month, with occasional variances. You ask your matchmaker for each one, both people are expected to make contact within three days, and an introduction counts even if neither of you gets in touch. Date coaching costs extra, at a reduced rate for members.
- Pay as you go. Find Fit Love charges only when an introduction is accepted. If the other person cancels before you meet, the A$350 is credited to your next introduction; if they don't turn up, you get a full credit or a replacement. For misrepresentation or a safety problem, it says it will "replace or refund depending on the situation", although another section says people who misrepresent themselves are removed and not refunded. Ask which applies.
- Open-ended. Vital Partners doesn't cap the number of matches but ties the number to who is available. We didn't find membership lengths or refund terms on its pages.
- Nothing published. Elite Introductions' terms page covers use of its website only, under New South Wales law, and says nothing about fees, membership length or refunds.
On refunds, Blue Label Life's terms say its policy "complies with Australian Consumer Law" and list cases where it may refuse one, such as a change of mind. They also say it can end a membership immediately if you give untruthful information, and that New South Wales law applies, even for its Canberra clients. Ask every agency for its refund policy in writing before you pay.
The rules that protect you in the Australian Capital Territory
We haven't found rules written specifically for introduction agencies in the Australian Capital Territory; Queensland and Victoria are the states that have them. The national Australian Consumer Law applies: a service must be provided with due care and skill and within a reasonable time, and if it isn't, you may be entitled to a remedy, including a refund.
If an agency phoned you, came to your door or approached you in public without being invited, and the agreement is worth more than $100, you have 10 business days to cancel. That doesn't apply if you contacted the agency first, which is how most people start. So in Canberra, the cancellation terms in your contract matter more than they would in Brisbane or Melbourne. Our guide to dating agencies in Australia compares the states, and contracts and refunds covers what to look for in the small print.
What to ask at your first consultation
- What is the full fee, including GST, and when is each part due?
- How many introductions will I get, and over what period?
- Does a match I decline count as an introduction?
- How many current members fit what I'm looking for and live in Canberra or nearby?
- Will I meet my matchmaker in Canberra, in Sydney or by video?
- Do you check ID? Anything else, such as relationship status?
- If I change my mind next week, what do I get back?
Question 4 matters in a city this size: an agency's Canberra list may be short, and a match in Sydney isn't much use for a midweek drink. Our full list of questions and what happens at the first interview will help you prepare, and the warning signs guide covers pressure to sign on the day.
If something goes wrong
Start with the agency, in writing. Access Canberra says you must contact the business before it can help, and that you'll need proof you wrote to it.
| Problem | Where to go |
|---|---|
| The agency won't cancel or refund | Write to it citing your contract; then Access Canberra on 13 22 81 |
| You paid by card and the service wasn't provided | Your bank or card provider, which may be able to help |
| An introduction asks you for money | Don't pay; tell the agency, report it to Scamwatch, and to ReportCyber if you've lost money or personal information |
| You feel unsafe | Leave, and call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency or ACT Policing on 131 444 otherwise |
If you've already paid a scammer, call your bank straight away. Our safety guide has more.
Our own online service, listed separately
DatingAgency.com is not one of the agencies above. We run an online dating service where you do the searching yourself: nobody interviews members or picks matches. Joining, making a profile and browsing are free; reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership that renews until you cancel. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, and what members write about themselves isn't checked. How our service works and our prices give the details.

Questions people ask
How much does a dating agency cost in Canberra?
Only one of the four firms we checked on 20 October 2026 publishes a price: Find Fit Love charges A$350 per successful introduction, and applying is free. Blue Label Life, Vital Partners and Elite Introductions quote fees after a consultation, so ask for the full price and payment schedule in writing.
Is there a cooling-off period for dating agencies in the ACT?
We found no cooling-off rule written for introduction agencies in the Australian Capital Territory, unlike Queensland and Victoria. If the agency approached you uninvited and the deal is worth more than $100, you have 10 business days to cancel. Otherwise you rely on the contract and the Australian Consumer Law.
Do Canberra agencies cover Queanbeyan and the surrounding region?
Some say so. Find Fit Love says it works with people in Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Googong, Bungendore and the surrounding region, and Vital Partners has a Queanbeyan page. Ask how many current members live within reach of you.
Which Canberra matchmaker is best?
We don't rank them: nobody can test agencies fairly without being a client of each. Compare them on members in your age range and area, how they check people, what counts as an introduction, the full fee and the refund terms.
Is DatingAgency.com one of the agencies listed?
No. We are not an agency and nobody here picks matches. Our online dating service appears in its own section, labelled as ours.
