In short
We checked seven agencies and matchmakers serving Sydney on their own websites on 20 October 2026. None publishes a full membership fee: one charges A$350 per introduction and another a non-refundable A$300 consultation. New South Wales has no agency-specific cooling-off rule, so get the price and refund terms in writing. DatingAgency.com is not an agency.
| Agencies listed | 7, each checked on its own website |
|---|---|
| Publishing a price | 2 of 7: A$350 per introduction; A$300 consultation |
| Checked on | 20 October 2026 |
| NSW cooling-off | No agency-specific rule; 10 business days only for uninvited sales of more than $100 |
| Our own service | Listed separately below and labelled as ours |
Plenty of firms have a "Sydney" page. We list seven that give a Sydney address on their own websites, or say they introduce singles across Sydney, and set out what each publishes and where it stays silent. Everything here comes from each firm's own website as it read on 20 October 2026, and its own documents take precedence over our summary. No listing is paid for and none carries an affiliate link.
Who's working in Sydney right now
Vital Partners
Vital Partners is the trading name of Love Actually Pty Ltd, according to its terms of use. Its office is at Suite 702, Level 7, 109 Pitt Street, and it says it has been introducing people since 1986. It offers a free consultation, then a matchmaker shares profiles with photos and passes on phone numbers when both people are interested. Its FAQ says it doesn't cap the number of matches, but adds that "match volumes are largely dependant upon supply and demand", so narrow requirements mean fewer introductions.
Matchmaker Sydney
Based at 123 Clarence Street, Matchmaker Sydney says it was founded in 1997 and serves metropolitan and regional areas across Australia. Its matchmakers interview each person and meet both people face to face, with guidance before a date and feedback afterwards. It says matches come from "a proprietary network of high-quality affiliates" without explaining who those affiliates are, and it promises a 24-hour contact turnaround and matches without stating any conditions. Ask what both promises mean in your contract.
Elite Introductions
An executive matchmaking firm with offices at Level 26, 1 Bligh Street, as well as Melbourne and Brisbane. Its Sydney page says it "only works with executives, professionals and successful business owners". You start with a free consultation or an online eligibility test. Its footer shows an introduction agency licence number, 4755135; licensing is a Queensland requirement, so the number matters most for its Brisbane clients.
O N A Matchmaking
A consultant-led service with a Sydney office on Barangaroo Avenue and a second in Collins Street, Melbourne. It describes its clients as mainly business and professional people looking for a long-term relationship. Its process starts with a free 20-minute phone call, then a 90-minute meeting in person, then a tailored search. Its "How we work" page says you meet clients "through your 12 month search program" and that every programme includes a period when you can put it on hold.
ML Introductions
ML Introductions lists an office at 85 William Street, Darlinghurst, and another in Brussels. Its terms of use name a company registered in London and say Belgian law governs them, which is worth knowing before you sign anything. It offers premium matchmaking and coaching for men, and a guest network and luxury package for women. Every service starts with a paid consultation.
Blue Label Life
A matchmaker for busy professionals, listing an office at Level 29, 2 Chifley Square, with others in Melbourne and Canberra. It offers a free 30-minute phone consultation. Its terms are the most specific on this page about what membership includes (see below).
Find Fit Love
A Melbourne-based service with an office on St Kilda Road and a page for Sydney, where it says it introduces singles "across greater Sydney". It is aimed at active, health-minded singles, though it says you don't need to be "a hardcore gym person". Applying is free and you pay only when an introduction goes ahead.
Prices side by side, with the date we checked
| Agency | Published price | What the price covers | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Find Fit Love | A$350 per successful introduction; free to apply | Charged when both people agree to the introduction; its pages describe the trigger slightly differently | 20 Oct 2026 |
| ML Introductions | A$300 for the first consultation, non-refundable | The consultation only; no programme prices published | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Vital Partners | Not published | Fees discussed after a free consultation | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Matchmaker Sydney | Not published | Its terms don't cover fees or length of membership | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Elite Introductions | Not published | Free consultation first | 20 Oct 2026 |
| O N A Matchmaking | Not published | A 12-month search programme | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Blue Label Life | Not published | Up to 12 months, about one introduction a month | 20 Oct 2026 |
A per-introduction fee and a 12-month programme are hard to compare directly. Our guide to whether a matchmaker is worth it shows how to work out the cost of each introduction, which is the fairest way to line them up.
How each one vets the people you'll meet
All seven say they meet, interview or screen people. Only one explains how it checks identity.
- Find Fit Love says it sends a secure link for an ID and selfie check, run by an accredited third-party provider, before any introduction. If the check can't be completed, the introduction doesn't go ahead. It says it doesn't store images of your ID.
- Vital Partners says it carries out "thorough screenings and vetting processes" so that matches are "genuine and unattached", without describing the steps.
- Elite Introductions says applicants go through a "multi-step screening process" before being offered membership.
- Matchmaker Sydney says it interviews each person and meets both people face to face.
- ML Introductions says a matchmaker hand-selects, vets and screens each candidate.
- Blue Label Life says its matches are "carefully screened, vetted, and selected", and its terms say people found outside its own database are screened "as per our policy".
- O N A Matchmaking uses in-depth interviews at the consultation but doesn't describe any checks.
An interview tells an agency how someone presents. It doesn't confirm that they are single, or that what they said about their job or age is true. Our guide to how agencies vet members explains what to ask for.
What the fee actually buys you
The published terms show how differently firms define membership:
- A set number of introductions. Blue Label Life's terms say membership lasts up to 12 months, can be put on hold for six months, and entitles you to one profile or introduction a month, with occasional variances. You are expected to ask your matchmaker for each one, and both people should make contact within three days.
- A period of searching. O N A Matchmaking runs a 12-month programme with a hold option.
- Pay as you go. Find Fit Love charges only when an introduction is accepted. If the other person cancels before you meet, the fee is credited to your next introduction; if they don't turn up, it offers a full credit or a replacement.
- Open-ended. Vital Partners doesn't cap the number of matches but ties volume to who is available.
Refund terms are thin across the board. Blue Label Life says its refund policy "complies with Australian Consumer Law" and that it can end a membership immediately if you give untruthful information. Matchmaker Sydney's and Elite Introductions' terms pages don't cover refunds at all, and ML Introductions says only that the consultation fee is non-refundable. Ask for the refund policy in writing before you pay.
The rules that protect you in New South Wales
We haven't found rules written specifically for introduction agencies in New South Wales; Queensland and Victoria are the states that have them. The national Australian Consumer Law applies: a service must be provided with due care and skill and within a reasonable time, and if it isn't, you may be entitled to a remedy, including a refund.
If an agency phoned you, came to your door or approached you in public without being invited, and the agreement is worth more than $100, you have 10 business days to cancel. That doesn't apply if you contacted the agency first, which is how most people start. So in Sydney, the cancellation terms in your contract matter more than they would in Brisbane or Melbourne. Our guide to dating agencies in Australia compares the states, and contracts and refunds covers what to look for in the small print.
What to ask at your first consultation
Take these to any Sydney agency, and ask for the answers in writing:
- What is the full fee, including GST, and when is each part due?
- How many introductions will I get, and does a match I decline count as one?
- How many current members fit what I'm looking for, by age and by area?
- Do you check ID? Anything else, such as relationship status?
- Can I pause my membership if I meet someone?
- If I change my mind next week, what do I get back?
- Which company am I contracting with, and under which state's law?
Question 3 matters in a city this size: a match in Cronulla is a long way from Hornsby. Question 7 matters where a firm's terms name an overseas company. Our full list of questions and what happens at the first interview will help you prepare, and the warning signs guide covers pressure to sign on the day.
If something goes wrong
Start with the agency, in writing, then escalate.
| Problem | Where to go |
|---|---|
| The agency won't cancel or refund | Write to it citing your contract; then NSW Fair Trading on 13 32 20 |
| You paid by card and the service wasn't provided | Your bank or card provider, which may be able to help |
| An introduction asks you for money | Don't pay; tell the agency, report it to Scamwatch, and to ReportCyber if you've lost money or personal information |
| You feel unsafe | Leave, and call Triple Zero (000) in an emergency or the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 otherwise |
If you've already paid a scammer, call your bank straight away. Our safety guide has more.
Our own online service, listed separately
DatingAgency.com is not one of the agencies above. We run an online dating service where you do the searching yourself: nobody interviews members or picks matches. Joining, making a profile and browsing are free; reading and replying to messages needs a paid membership that renews until you cancel. Profiles are shared with partner sites in the same network, and what members write about themselves isn't checked. How our service works and our prices give the details.

Questions people ask
How much does a dating agency cost in Sydney?
None of the seven firms we checked on 20 October 2026 publishes a membership fee. Find Fit Love charges A$350 per successful introduction, and ML Introductions charges A$300 for a non-refundable first consultation. The rest quote prices at a consultation, so ask for the full fee and payment schedule in writing.
Is there a cooling-off period for dating agencies in New South Wales?
We found no cooling-off rule written for introduction agencies in NSW, unlike Queensland and Victoria. If the agency approached you uninvited and the deal is worth more than $100, you have 10 business days to cancel. Otherwise you rely on the contract and the Australian Consumer Law.
Which Sydney matchmaker is best?
We don't rank them: nobody can test agencies fairly without being a client of each. Compare them on members in your age range and area, how they check people, what counts as an introduction, the full fee and the refund terms, and get each answer in writing.
Do Sydney agencies check ID?
Only one of the seven describes an identity check on its own site: Find Fit Love says it runs an ID and selfie check through a third-party provider before any introduction. The others say they interview or screen people but don't say how. Ask each one exactly what it checks.
Is DatingAgency.com one of the agencies listed?
No. We are not an agency and nobody here picks matches. Our online dating service appears in its own section, labelled as ours, so you can compare like with like.
